How to keep your TimberFlare piece looking exceptional.

A TimberFlare portafilter is made to be used, not just admired. With sensible day-to-day care, wood, resin, and metal finishes will continue to develop character while staying refined on the machine and in the hand.

Quick care rules

  • Wipe down after use with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
  • Do not soak handles in water or leave them sitting in a wet sink.
  • Avoid harsh cleaners, bleach, abrasive pads, and dishwasher use.
  • Store dry between sessions, especially after back-to-back shots.

Wood handles

Natural hardwood is chosen for depth, figure, and warmth in the hand. Over time it may deepen slightly in tone and show a gentler surface sheen from regular use. That evolution is normal and part of the appeal.

To care for wood, wipe it clean after use and keep prolonged water contact to a minimum. If the surface ever looks dry, a very light application of food-safe mineral oil on a soft cloth is enough. Do not oversaturate. The goal is to maintain a clean, settled finish, not a greasy shine.

Resin handles

Resin offers vivid color, movement, and a smooth tactile feel. It is easy to maintain and well suited to owners who want dramatic visual presence with straightforward daily care.

Use a soft cloth to remove coffee residue and fingerprints. Avoid sharp impacts and rough abrasive materials that can dull the surface. A gentle microfiber wipe is usually all that is needed to keep resin looking crisp and polished.

Metal components

Metal heads and trim are selected for fit, balance, and durability in real espresso routines. Like any well-used espresso hardware, they can collect water spots, oils, or light handling marks if left unattended.

Dry metal surfaces after rinsing and avoid letting moisture sit on them for long periods. For routine cleaning, use a soft cloth and mild soap if needed. Avoid aggressive polishing compounds unless absolutely necessary.

Daily-use expectations

TimberFlare pieces are meant for real daily espresso use. Minor signs of honest use can appear over time, especially on surfaces that are touched often or set down on counters. That is normal. What matters is maintaining clean handling, dry storage, and sensible cleaning habits.

For buyers who care deeply about long-term presentation, the best routine is simple: wipe after use, keep the handle dry, and avoid cleaning shortcuts that trade speed for surface wear. Those habits go a long way toward preserving both feel and appearance.
